The moon has to be waxing, which is the stretch between the new moon on the 6th and the full moon on the 20th. And it has to be passing through a sign the tradition ties to hair, which is Leo for volume.

The moon enters Leo at 2:30 PM ET on 18 February and leaves it at 2:59 PM ET on the 20th, slipping into Virgo about three and a half hours before it reaches full. So the 19th is the only complete day where waxing and Leo overlap, and it is the date to ask for.

If you cannot get that appointment, the whole waxing half still works for length. Anything from the 7th to the 20th is inside it. Last month's January 2027 calendar is still up if you are planning two cuts ahead.

Best days for thickness and strong roots

12, 13 and 14 February. The moon is in Taurus across those three days and still waxing, and Taurus is the earth sign the tradition ties to density and root strength rather than speed.
