Questions,
Answered
Every question here came from a real woman who wanted to know before she ordered. We are glad she asked. We are glad you are here.
Every piece in our collection is handcrafted to order by artisan families in Bali. This is not a warehouse. There is no shelf of pre-made garments waiting.
Standard production and delivery takes 3–6 weeks from the date of your order. Made-to-Order pieces, custom sizing, or orders during high-demand periods may take a little longer — we will always communicate this with you.
We know this is longer than what most brands promise. That is the point. Each piece takes the time it takes because someone made it. Not a machine. Not a factory line. A person, at home, with skill built over years.
That is not a delay. That is devotion. It means your piece did not exist before you ordered it.
When your order is confirmed, one of our artisan families in Bali begins work. The fabric is cut, the seams are sewn, the tie is finished — by hand, with care, for you specifically. This is how we keep quality where it belongs. It is also why we sometimes sell out of colorways permanently. We never make more than we intend to.
Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. We will always be honest with you about which.
Because we produce in small batches and never overproduce, certain pieces sell out and do not return. When a colorway or style is gone, it is genuinely gone — that is not scarcity language, that is just what happens when you refuse to make more than the earth can hold.
That said, we do occasionally recut high-demand pieces. When we do, our Muse-Letter community hears about it first — always. You can also sign up for a Waitlist Alert directly on the product page. Be ready — single pieces move fast.
Email us at support@myrahpenaloza.com if you want to ask about a specific item. We are happy to help you find something that carries a similar feeling.
Yes, on selected styles. Email us at support@myrahpenaloza.com with the name of the piece, your measurements — bust, waist, hip, height — and any specific requests. We will let you know what we can accommodate and what the timeline looks like.
Yes. Add your note at checkout and we will include it with the order. Our packaging is already designed to feel like receiving something — eco-friendly, plastic-free, folded with care. A personal note makes it a gift in the fullest sense.
Worldwide. Every order ships from Bali, Indonesia, to wherever you are. We have sent pieces to women in 40+ countries. Your address is not a barrier.
We offer free worldwide shipping on orders over $500 USD. For orders below $500, a flat shipping rate is calculated at checkout by region — you will see the exact cost before you confirm anything.
International orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes depending on your country. These fees are set by your local customs authority, not by us — they are collected separately, sometimes upon delivery.
For customers in the United States, most of our orders fall below the US customs de minimis threshold, which means no additional fees in most cases. For other countries, we recommend checking your local customs rules before placing your order.
Yes. Once your piece ships from Bali, you will receive a tracking number by email. Because each piece is made to order, that tracking number arrives when the piece is completed and dispatched — not immediately after you order.
If you have not received a tracking update within your expected production window, write to us at support@myrahpenaloza.com and we will find out exactly where things are.
Write to us. We take this seriously. Email support@myrahpenaloza.com with your order number and we will give you a clear, honest update — not a template response, a real one.
Our garments are designed as one-size-fits-most, built to fit US sizes 2–16 comfortably, with many pieces extending well beyond that. There are no XS–XL labels here. Instead, there are generous silhouettes, wrap ties, elasticated waists, and draping designed to move with a range of real bodies.

Very likely, yes.
Our reviews include women of nearly every body type — and some of the most enthusiastic notes come from women who were most nervous before ordering. Petite women sometimes have gowns or playsuits slightly hemmed, a small alteration any tailor can do in an afternoon. Tall women often find our lengths land in exactly the places they have been searching for. Curvy and plus-size women are among our most loyal customers and consistently say our silhouettes were made for bodies like theirs.
Still unsure? Email us your measurements and the piece you are considering. We will tell you honestly.
Yes, on selected styles. See our Sizing Guide → or email support@myrahpenaloza.com before placing your order. We would rather take ten minutes before your purchase than have you receive something that does not feel right.
We work exclusively with natural, sustainable fabrics: linen, organic cotton, silk, and botanical-dyed textiles. We never use polyester or synthetic blends. What touches your skin matters. We treat it accordingly.
Our Rainbeau colorway series is created through a botanical dye process — a multi-day, plant-based method that produces the soft, atmospheric gradient our customers love most. No two Rainbeau pieces are exactly alike. That is not a caveat. That is the point.
Natural fabrics ask to be treated gently. They reward it. Always check the label inside your garment first. What follows is our guidance by fabric type.
LinenStrong, honest, and improves with age. It will soften and relax with every wash — this is not wear, this is the fabric becoming itself.
- Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water
- Lay flat or hang to dry — never tumble dry
- Iron on medium heat while slightly damp, or use a garment steamer
- Store folded rather than hung — hanging stretches the fabric over time
- Wash separately the first time — linen may release a little colour
The most delicate fabric we work with and the most rewarding to care for well.
- Hand wash only in cool water with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent
- Do not wring — press water out gently and roll in a clean towel
- Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight
- Iron on the lowest setting while slightly damp, on the reverse side
- Store folded in breathable fabric or tissue paper — never in plastic
The most forgiving of our fabrics. It washes well, wears well, and lasts.
- Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water
- Lay flat or hang to dry — tumble drying on low is acceptable but air drying extends the life of the piece
- Iron on medium heat while slightly damp
Plant dye is alive. Handle with a little more care in its early life.
- Wash separately for the first two washes to allow the dye to fully set
- Cold water only — heat accelerates colour release
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — botanical dyes soften in tone over time
- Hand wash where possible for longest colour retention
When in doubt across any fabric: hand wash in cold water and hang to dry. This is always the right answer.
Quality linen washed in cold water and air-dried will not shrink meaningfully. Hot cycles and tumble drying are where shrinkage happens — which is why we ask you to avoid them. Follow the care guidance and your piece will be with you for years.
Yes, and it is intentional. Botanical dyeing is a natural process. Each piece absorbs colour differently depending on the dye bath conditions — water temperature, timing, the specific weight of the fabric that day. Some pieces arrive slightly lighter, some slightly deeper than the photograph. This is the nature of plant dye. It is also what makes your piece genuinely yours and no one else’s.
If the variation is significant enough to concern you, contact us and we will work with you to find the right resolution.
Because each piece is made by hand, to order, by a real person in Bali — we are not able to offer refunds for change of mind. We ask that you take your time before you order, use our Sizing Guide, and write to us with any questions. We genuinely want to help you get this right before the piece is made.
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or significantly different from what was described, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it at support@myrahpenaloza.com with your order number and photos. We handle every situation individually. Our goal is always the same: for you to love what you receive.
This is rare — but if it happens, we want to know immediately. Email support@myrahpenaloza.com with your order number and photos of the issue. We will make it right.
Because our pieces are handcrafted to order, we are not able to accept returns for fit. This is why we put so much care into our Sizing Guide and why we encourage you to write to us before ordering if you have any questions.
If something arrives and does not feel right, reach out. We will explore every option available — alteration guidance, exchange possibilities, next steps. We are not interested in leaving you with a piece you do not love.
We offer both digital and physical gift cards, and they never expire. A Myrah Penaloza piece is one of the most personal things you can give someone — and a gift card lets her choose the piece that is calling to her.
Digital gift cards are delivered immediately to the email address used at checkout. Forward it to the recipient, or print it and give her something tangible to hold. Digital gift cards are currently available for domestic US purchases only.
Physical gift cards are sent to the shipping address provided at checkout. To send directly to the recipient, simply use their address when you order.
Our gift cards never expire. There is no deadline on giving someone the right piece.
Yes. Gift cards can be applied to any purchase at checkout, in full or in part. If your order total exceeds the gift card balance, you can pay the difference with any other accepted payment method.
Refunds on gift card purchases go back onto the gift card. We are not able to issue cash refunds for gift card purchases. Your gift card can be reused on any future order with no expiry.
If you need a gift card re-sent or have questions about a balance, email us at support@myrahpenaloza.com and we will sort it out.
Approximately 30 Balinese artisan families, working from their homes across Bali. Not a factory. Not a production line. Homes — where the sound of a sewing machine sits alongside children finishing homework and rice cooking for dinner.
Each person is paid a real living wage for work that takes real skill. We choose to do it this way because it is the right way. Not because it is the easy way.
Myrah (Mayra) Penaloza is the founder and designer. She is Mexican, and brings her cultural heritage into every silhouette, colorway, and ceremony reference the brand holds.
Robindra is her partner and co-founder, from India, who leads operations and marketing. Together they moved to Bali and built this brand from the ground up — a fusion of Mexican artistry, Indian heritage, and Balinese spirituality you can feel when you put the fabric on.
Rainbeau is our signature botanical dye colorway — a soft, shifting gradient of plant-dyed violet, rose, and sky that has become the most beloved piece of the collection. Each Rainbeau piece carries its own expression of the colour, created through a multi-day botanical dye process using natural plant pigments.
It is not purple. It is not lavender. It is the colour of the sky the morning after everything broke open.Yes. Our studio and flagship retail space is in Bali, Indonesia. If you are visiting the island, you are welcome to come in, try pieces on, and meet the people behind the brand.
We are expanding — additional Bali locations, and eventually Spain. Join our Muse-Letter to be the first to know when new locations open.

Yes, absolutely. We work with multi-brand stores around the world who share our values — conscious retail, slow fashion, intentional curation. If you are a boutique owner and our collection feels like the right fit for your community, we would love to hear from you.

Yes, for the right partners. We receive many requests and are only able to say yes to a certain number each season. What we look for is genuine alignment — a creative vision that honours the spirit of the brand, a community that feels like ours, a collaboration that produces something neither of us could have made alone.
If that sounds like you, reach out at support@myrahpenaloza.com and tell us about yourself, your work, and what you have in mind.
This means more to us than you know. We are a small brand built by real hands. When a customer creates something beautiful — a photograph, a video, a moment — it reaches women in a way no campaign ever could.
Send it to support@myrahpenaloza.com and we will find the right home for it. We will always credit you, and always reach out before sharing anything publicly.
What you created might be exactly what another woman needed to see before she finally ordered the piece she has been looking at for months. That is how this community grows.
Yes. This is something we want more of. The Myrah Penaloza blog exists to carry stories — not just products. Stories of women building things, healing things, beginning again.
What helps us say yes: come with a concept already written or clearly outlined. Share photos. If you have images of yourself wearing the brand, include those — it turns a pitch into a conversation.
Send your proposal to support@myrahpenaloza.com with the subject line “Blog Feature.” We read everything.
This space — our Instagram, our blog, our comments, our emails — is a gathering place. We take that seriously.
We welcome honest conversation, including disagreement. We do not need everyone to think the same things. We do need everyone to speak with care.
We do not tolerate hate speech, harassment, or content that degrades or shames anyone based on race, ethnicity, national origin, body, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disability, or any other part of who they are. Content of this nature will be removed.
We celebrate the full range of bodies, lives, and journeys in this community. Our pieces have been worn by women through pregnancy, postpartum, grief, ceremony, ecstatic dance, sadhana, second marriages, first solo trips, and quiet ordinary Tuesdays. Every one of those moments belongs here.
When you engage in this space, you are a guest in something we have built with intention. We ask you to bring that same intention. We are always listening. And we are always glad you are here.
Still have a question?
Our team is in Bali and responds with care — real people who know the collection, know the sizing, and are genuinely invested in your experience with us. We read everything.
support@myrahpenaloza.com With love from Bali, Myrah
