Harnessing the Eclipse: A Kundalini Yoga Journey for Transformation

There are moments when the sky does something that is not subtle. When the alignment of planets creates a window of energy so concentrated that people feel it in their bodies before they understand it in their minds. Eclipse season is one of those moments.

A solar eclipse is not simply a visual event. In astrology, it marks a threshold. The moon moves between the earth and the sun, and what is normally illuminated goes briefly dark. What that darkness reveals, what surfaces in the pause, is often the thing that has been waiting to be seen.

Myrah has been teaching Kundalini Yoga through eclipse seasons for over two decades. She has watched women use this energy to make decisions they had been circling for years. To release what they had been holding past its time. To set intentions that carried further than ordinary New Moon intentions, because eclipse energy amplifies everything it touches.

What a Solar Eclipse Actually Does to Your Energy Field

The solar eclipse in Aries carried a specific quality. Aries, ruled by Mars, is bold, initiating, unapologetically forward-moving. Combined with the amplifying quality of an eclipse, the energy was a concentrated signal: what are you beginning? What have you been about to do for months that you have not yet done?

The retrogrades that often accompany eclipse season, Mercury and Venus most commonly, create a useful counterpoint to this forward pressure. Think of it as a bow being drawn back before the arrow is released. The retrograde is not a delay. It is the aiming. The pause in which you clarify your target before committing to the trajectory.

Your thoughts carry more weight during an eclipse than at ordinary times. When those thoughts come from the heart rather than the anxious mind, when they are charged with genuine feeling and directed with clear intention, they reach further. This is not metaphor. This is what practitioners across traditions have observed, consistently, across centuries.

The Kundalini Practice for Eclipse Energy

The class Myrah teaches during eclipse seasons is structured around three things: clearing, grounding, and scripting.

Clearing first. The lunar eclipse that typically precedes the solar eclipse does the heavy work here, moving through the subconscious like water through soil. By the time the solar eclipse arrives, what has been loosened needs to be released rather than re-examined. Kundalini sets designed for this season work with breath of fire, with kriyas that generate heat and movement in the body, because stuck energy releases most readily through physical activation.

Grounding second. Eclipse energy is electric. It can scatter as easily as it can clarify. Sitting in the sun for a few minutes, connecting bare feet to earth if you can, slowing the breath deliberately, these are not optional additions to the practice. They are the practice's foundation. You cannot plant an intention in unsteady ground.

Scripting third. After the practice, take ten minutes and write five things you intend to bring into your life in the next six months. Write them in the past tense, as gratitude for what has already arrived. Not I want to make more revenue this month. I am grateful that this has been my most abundant month yet. The subconscious responds to completion rather than desire. Give it a completed picture to move toward.

What to Release and What to Initiate

Eclipse seasons ask two things simultaneously: what are you willing to let go of, and what are you ready to begin?

The things ready to be released are usually obvious, even when they are difficult. The relationship that has been running on loyalty past its natural end. The belief about what you deserve that was given to you by someone who did not know better. The habit that provides short-term comfort and long-term cost. Eclipse energy makes these visible with unusual clarity. The work is not in seeing them. It is in being willing to act on what you see.

The things ready to be initiated are equally clear, if you slow down enough to listen. The project that keeps returning to you no matter how many times you set it aside. The version of your life that feels like yours rather than inherited. The creative expression that has been waiting for permission. Eclipse season is the permission.

The eclipse does not create your transformation. It reveals the one that has been waiting. Your job is simply to stop arguing with what you already know.
