Shopping in Pererenan: What Our Corner of Bali Is Actually Like
Pererenan is not Seminyak.
It is not the clubs and the beach clubs and the polished surfaces of southern Bali's tourist economy. It is quieter than that. More lived-in. The kind of neighborhood where rice paddies still separate the villas, where the morning temple ceremony happens in the lane behind the coffee shop, where the people who have been here for years know each other by name.

We chose to open our studio here for exactly that reason. Pererenan is where the making happens. It felt dishonest to be anywhere else.
Our Studio: What You Will Actually Find Here
We are not a boutique in the traditional sense. The space is our studio. The pieces on the rail came off our artisans' worktables in the days before you arrived. The dyeing happens nearby. The making happens in the homes of thirty families within a few kilometers of where you are standing when you walk in.
This means what you find here changes constantly. Not by season in the fashion calendar sense, but organically, as new pieces come through and others find their homes. There is always something new that has not made it online yet. There is always a story attached to anything you touch, and we will tell it to you if you ask.
We ask people to take their time. To have tea. To try things on in the afternoon light, which is the most honest light for understanding whether a piece is actually yours. Morning light in Bali is silver and diffuse. Afternoon light is golden and warm and shows you what you will look like in the evenings you are actually dressing for.
What You Find Here That Is Not Online
The pieces that exist only in the studio tend to be the experimental ones. New colorways we are testing on a small run before committing to production. Limited quantities in unusual dye combinations that resulted from a particularly good batch and cannot be exactly replicated. Pieces made as one-offs by a maker who was working with a specific botanical dye and produced something singular that will never exist again in quite that form.
These pieces are not available online because they are, by their nature, singular. They exist once, in a specific size, in a specific color that will not be repeated. If you find one that feels like yours, it is. That feeling of recognition is reliable. We have watched it happen hundreds of times. When a woman picks up a piece and goes quiet, it is hers.
Private Shopping Sessions
For women who want to try on pieces with real care and attention, we offer private shopping sessions by appointment. This is not a upsell. It is the experience we would want ourselves, and the one we wish the whole industry offered: time, a guide who knows every piece in the studio, tea, and no pressure to make a decision faster than the decision wants to be made.
Private sessions are for the woman who wants to build a capsule rather than add a single piece. Who wants to understand how things work together, which colorways complement each other, which silhouettes will travel with her. Who wants to take the time to try on eight things and leave with two that are exactly right.

Getting Here
Pererenan sits between Canggu to the south and Seseh to the north. From central Seminyak, the studio is approximately twenty minutes by scooter or thirty minutes by car depending on traffic. From Canggu Echo Beach, it is five to ten minutes. Message us in advance and we will send you the exact location, because the best places in Bali are never quite on the main road.
We do not always keep fixed hours. The studio is open when the making is happening, which is most days, but we would rather you arrive knowing we are here than find a closed door. A message the morning of your visit is always welcome.
The best experience of what we make is the one you have in the studio, with the piece in your hands and the afternoon light coming through the window and a cup of tea on the table. If you cannot come to Bali, our new arrivals are the next best thing.
With love from Bali,
Myrah.
