Meet Heather McLeod, founder of Guru Grid Yoga Alignment Mats.

Heather is a wife and mother of two boys, living in the Laurentians in Quebec. She brings together a business degree, years in marketing, over two decades of yoga practice, and a deeply personal journey through healing from breast cancer in 2016 and 2017. The Guru Grid, she says, is infused with all the curative and peaceful energy she drew on during that period.

What are you excited about right now?

Our new Premium ELEMENTS mats. The colours represent the elements in nature and in yoga: the power and strength of Fire, the beauty and grounding of Earth, the flow and flexibility of Water.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

My need to see myself in others and help us both drove me to create the Guru Grid. It is so rewarding to see that the peace of mind and sense of security I have while practising on my mat is shared by so many others.

What is your biggest challenge right now?

Balancing my roles as a wife, mother, and businesswoman while taking care of my health. It is ongoing work.

What daily ritual are you practising right now?

I have finally gone back to meditating as a daily ritual. It got me through many years in the past and I somehow forgot what a valuable tool it is. Simple. Accessible. Always there.

What is your dharma in two words?

Energy connection.
