Here in Bali, at eight degrees south, the whole year's daylight runs from about eleven hours thirty-seven minutes in June to twelve hours thirty-eight minutes in December. An hour of variation across twelve months, so the equinox is something we read about rather than feel.

What this changes about reading Libra season

Mostly the tone. Libra season is usually sold as a month of harmony, and the sky is saying something more exact. The equinox is not a balance that has been achieved. It is one instant of crossing in a system in constant motion, and the light starts tipping the other way immediately afterwards. Which is the better description: balance is not a place you arrive, it is a thing that is true for a moment while you keep moving.
