The Sequence You Are Meant to Walk Downwards

The Venus Sequence is the second journey of the Gene Keys Golden Path. It is a map of six spheres, calculated from your birth data, describing how you attract, think, feel and love, and it ends at what Richard Rudd calls the Core Wound. It is the part of the work most people begin and do not finish.

Where the Venus Sequence sits in the Golden Path

The Golden Path has three sequences and they are meant to be taken in order.

The Activation Sequence is about you on your own: Life's Work, Evolution, Radiance and Purpose. We laid that one out in the Activation Sequence, explained. The Venus Sequence is about you in relationship. The Pearl Sequence, which comes third, is about prosperity and contribution.

The ordering is not decorative. The argument is that you cannot look honestly at how you love until you have some grip on who you are, and you cannot handle money cleanly until you have looked at what sits underneath your relationships. You can disagree with the metaphysics and still notice that this is a reasonable order for a human being to do anything in.

The six spheres of the Venus Sequence

Six spheres, each drawn from a planetary position in your chart, each read as a Gene Key with its own Shadow, Gift and Siddhi. Here they are in the order the sequence walks you through them.

Purpose. Taken from the prenatal Earth. It carries over from the Activation Sequence but is read differently here. Not your purpose in the world. Your purpose inside relationship.

Attraction. Taken from the prenatal Moon. This is described as your attractor field, the magnetic pattern that draws particular people toward you at particular times. It is also where the material on the sexual wound sits, which is why it is the first sphere that genuinely stings.

IQ. Taken from natal Venus. Your relational intelligence. How your mind formed through adolescence, and how that shows up now in the way you argue, explain, interpret and defend.

EQ. Taken from natal Mars. Your emotional body. How you handle conflict, vulnerability, and the specific moment when somebody gets closer than you had planned for.

SQ. Taken from the prenatal Venus. Spiritual intelligence, which reaches back further than the others, into early childhood and the emotional frequency of the house you grew up inside.

Core. Taken from the prenatal Mars. The deepest sphere and the destination of the whole sequence. The wound and the gift described as living in the same coordinate.

Between each sphere there is a pathway, and the pathways are named too: Dharma runs from Purpose to Attraction, Karma from Attraction to IQ, Intelligence from IQ to EQ, Love from EQ to SQ, and Realisation from SQ to Core. The pathway is the transition. It is the part where one thing turns into the next, and it is usually where the actual work happens.

Why the order matters more than the content

This is the part I would underline twice.

The Venus Sequence descends. It begins at the surface, with what you attract, and moves inward through mind, then emotion, then spirit, and only then arrives at the Core. Almost everybody does the opposite. We read the Core first, because the wound is the most dramatic paragraph in the document, and then spend a year explaining our behaviour with it.

I did exactly that. I read my Core sphere roughly four minutes after opening the profile, and it was useless. It read like a sentence about a stranger, because I had not walked the four spheres that make it legible.

When I went back and did it properly, in order, over a season, the Core did not land as a revelation. It landed as a conclusion. That is a far less exciting experience and a considerably more useful one.

The Core sphere has a second name

Worth knowing, because it confuses almost everyone at first. The Core sphere and the Vocation sphere are the same position in the chart. Prenatal Mars. It is called Core when you meet it in the Venus Sequence and Vocation when you meet it again in the Pearl Sequence.

That double naming is the most interesting structural claim the system makes. The place where you were most wounded and the work you are here to do are, in this framing, the same coordinate seen from two directions.

Robindra's reads as the Shaman through that sphere. Somebody who brings hidden things to the surface for other people, and who processes everything internally, at length, before he will say any of it out loud. Read as Vocation, it is a job description. Read as Core, it explains why the internal processing takes as long as it does.

Mine reads as the Remembering Woman, with intimacy, freedom, belonging and embodiment as the running themes, and one specific note: I am not built to lead through force, I lead through resonance. In the Activation Sequence I read that as a leadership style. In the Venus Sequence it reads more like a condition of entry.

What we actually changed

Less than you would expect, and I would rather report that honestly than dress it up.

We restructured nothing. What changed was one recurring argument.

There is a version of a disagreement between us where I want a decision today and he needs to go quiet for two days first. For years I read the quiet as withdrawal, and reacted to it as withdrawal. The Core reading gave us a less insulting account of the same behaviour: the processing is not avoidance, it is the only way the material surfaces at all.

So we made a small rule. Two days is available. It is not a punishment. And at the end of the two days there is an actual answer, not a further two days. That is the entire implementation, from a document that took a season to read properly.

The honest caveat

The same one every time, because I would rather repeat myself than quietly overclaim.

The Gene Keys are a contemplative framework, not a science. There is no peer reviewed evidence base. Richard Rudd describes the system as having arrived through a period of heightened consciousness rather than through research. And any system built from evocative, spectrum shaped descriptions will produce a strong feeling of recognition in almost anybody, which is worth holding in mind at the exact moment you feel most recognised.

What I will defend is narrower than the system claims for itself. Sitting with a careful description of your own patterns, in a fixed order, over months rather than an afternoon, is a good practice. The document gives you a reason to do it. It is not evidence of anything.
