Slow, ethical and sustainable production
For every order you make, we give back to Bali
Named for a flower you smell before you see.
The Osmanthus Set is a two piece linen set in Matcha, a kimono cut jacket worn over oversized wide leg trousers, botanically dyed and hand stitched in Bali.
Osmanthus is the small gold blossom used to scent oolong and green tea. It gives itself away entirely by fragrance, easy to miss, entirely uninterested in being looked at, and the whole garden knows it is there. The set was cut in that spirit.
The jacket is kimono through the shoulder and the sleeve, generous across the arm, closing soft or falling open depending on what the day is asking of you. Beneath it the trousers are deliberately oversized, wide through the leg, made for sitting cross legged on a floor for an hour without your body filing a complaint. This is the set for the tea ceremony and for the whole afternoon after it. The kitchen. The studio. The long flight. The conversation that goes somewhere neither of you expected.
The colour is where the difficulty lives. Matcha, dyed with botanicals gathered here in Bali, run as a yin yang: one side carrying the deeper green, one side the lighter, two dye baths brought into a single garment so the balance is built in rather than styled on. It takes our artisans considerably longer than one colour would, and there is no honest way to shorten it.
Matcha carries the green of living things. In the Tierra pieces it returned women to the garden. Here it does something quieter. It sits still and lets you be the one who moves.
Made in small batches by the Balinese artisan families who have built this collection with Myrah from the beginning, each of them paid a real living wage. 100% linen, certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100, free from harmful substances from fiber through finished garment.
For the woman who has stopped needing her clothes to announce her, and would rather be recognized by the quality of her attention.
The Set
- Kimono cut jacket, generous through the shoulder and sleeve, worn open or closed
- Oversized wide leg trousers, relaxed through the hip and leg, made for sitting
- Yin yang construction, the deeper Matcha on one side, the lighter on the other
- Botanically dyed in Bali, plants gathered here, no two sets identical
- 100% linen, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified
- Japanese inspired silhouette, restraint in the line, ease in the fit
- Wear together or as separates, the jacket layers over nearly everything in the collection
Sizing
Available in S/M and M/L. The cut is generous by design, through the shoulder, the sleeve and the leg. That is the intention, not a mistake.
The honest note
Botanical dye is a living process. The plants decide, the season decides, and no two sets will match each other exactly. Colour will soften with time and sun, which is the dye continuing to be what it is rather than a fault.
Allow 3 to 6 weeks from order to shipment, then 5 to 15 business days with DHL. The lead time is not a delay. It is the making.
Care: cold hand wash or gentle machine cycle. Line dry in shade to keep the green.
Common questions
What is a kimono jacket?
A jacket cut with a wide, straight sleeve set low on the shoulder, open at the front rather than fastened. The Osmanthus jacket takes that line and lets it be worn tied, loose, layered or alone.
What should I wear to a tea ceremony?
Something loose enough to sit cross legged in for a long time, in a natural fiber that breathes, in a colour that does not compete with the room. That is precisely what this set was cut for, though it has turned out to be equally right for mornings at home and long flights.
How does it compare to the Jasmine Set?
Same kimono thinking in the top. The Jasmine Set pairs it with wide leg shorts in plain French linen. The Osmanthus pairs it with full length oversized trousers and moves into botanically dyed Matcha with the yin yang construction, which is a considerably longer piece of work.
Will the colour fade?
It will soften, slowly, the way botanically dyed cloth does. Wash cold, line dry in shade, keep it out of long direct sun and it will hold its green for years while becoming unmistakably yours.

We issue store credit rather than cash refunds, and the piece needs to come back unworn, unwashed, unaltered, with tags attached. Return shipping is yours unless the piece arrived damaged or incorrect.
Pieces customised for you (made to your measurements, in a custom colour or altered to your request) are final sale, because they were cut for you and cannot belong to anyone else. Sale items, anything bought with a discount code of 25% or more, and anything bought with store credit are also final sale. Made-to-order pieces in our standard sizes and colourways can be exchanged.
Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing them.
