"It dances with and around me." That is what one woman wrote about the Brida Gown. We have not found a better description. This is the short version — same spirit, same name, same etymology. Brida means bride in some languages. Not the performance of a wedding. The feeling before it.

A short French linen gown — knee to midi length — with the same wide butterfly sleeves and open front V that make the long Brida remarkable, compressed into a silhouette that moves faster and lands differently. Made to order, by hand, in Bali, from 100% French linen. Available in four colorways. Your piece is made specifically for you in the weeks after you place it. Available in Light Flax, Forest Green, Clay, and White. 100% French linen. Cold wash, hang dry. Allow 3 to 6 weeks from order to shipment, then 5 to 15 business days with DHL. The Brida Short runs generous — read the sizing guide. As a made-to-order piece, it is exchange-only.

If you have a specific date in mind — a wedding, a retreat, a ceremony — contact us before ordering. We want to make sure your piece arrives with time to spare. This one leaves Bali three to six weeks after you order, and it is worth every day of the wait.

Everything we make is handmade in Bali by our artisan families, in small batches and to order. 

Whether your piece is waiting in the studio or cut for you after you order, it is finished, checked and packed by hand, so allow 3 to 6 weeks before dispatch, with botanically dyed pieces toward the longer end. 

Once your order leaves Bali, transit is 5 to 15 business days, and tracking reaches your inbox within 5 days of dispatch.

Shipping is free worldwide on orders of $350 USD and over. 

Below that, one flat rate by region: $14.99 to the United States. $15 to Canada, Mexico and Asia. $18 to Australia and New Zealand. $25 to the UK and Europe. $32 everywhere else. Free within Indonesia.

Duties and taxes are collected on arrival. Since August 2025, most US orders carry a DHL duty charge, and VAT or GST applies in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

If a piece arrives and the fit is not right, or it arrives damaged, you have 10 days from delivery to exchange it. We issue store credit rather than cash refunds, and the piece needs to come back unworn, unwashed, unaltered, with tags attached. Return shipping is yours unless the piece arrived damaged or incorrect.

Pieces customised for you (made to your measurements, in a custom colour or altered to your request) are final sale, because they were cut for you and cannot belong to anyone else. Sale items, anything bought with a discount code of 25% or more, and anything bought with store credit are also final sale. Made-to-order pieces in our standard sizes and colourways can be exchanged.

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing them.
