The Amma Gown was named for one of the world's quietest forms of power, a woman whose life's work has been holding space for whoever needed it, without condition. She often wore something like this when she was young, a criss-cross front that opens gently at the heart instead of guarding it. We built the gown around that same intention, an opening at the chest that asks for nothing and covers nothing that doesn't want to be seen.
This is not a piece you have to become someone else to wear. You put it on and something in your posture remembers itself.
Every Amma Gown that leaves Bali carries the hands that made it. Bamboo rayon crepe, cut and finished by one of our artisan families, in a small batch that will not be repeated once it's gone. That's not scarcity for its own sake. It's what happens when a piece is made slowly enough to be made well.
Wear her curled up at home. Wear her to a dinner that matters. Wear her at the threshold of your own quiet ceremony, whatever that looks like this season.
Fit: Fits small/medium. Model is 5'6".
Fabric: 100% bamboo rayon crepe.
Care: Hand or machine wash cold, alone. Hang or lay flat to dry. Handle with care. Do not dry clean.

Shipping
Everything we make is handmade in Bali by our artisan families, in small batches and to order.
Whether your piece is waiting in the studio or cut for you after you order, it is finished, checked and packed by hand, so allow 3 to 6 weeks before dispatch, with botanically dyed pieces toward the longer end.
Once your order leaves Bali, transit is 5 to 15 business days, and tracking reaches your inbox within 5 days of dispatch.
Shipping is free worldwide on orders of $350 USD and over.
Below that, one flat rate by region: $14.99 to the United States. $15 to Canada, Mexico and Asia. $18 to Australia and New Zealand. $25 to the UK and Europe. $32 everywhere else. Free within Indonesia.
Duties and taxes are collected on arrival. Since August 2025, most US orders carry a DHL duty charge, and VAT or GST applies in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Exchanges and Cancellations
If a piece arrives and the fit is not right, or it arrives damaged, you have 10 days from delivery to exchange it. We issue store credit rather than cash refunds, and the piece needs to come back unworn, unwashed, unaltered, with tags attached. Return shipping is yours unless the piece arrived damaged or incorrect.
Pieces customised for you (made to your measurements, in a custom colour or altered to your request) are final sale, because they were cut for you and cannot belong to anyone else. Sale items, anything bought with a discount code of 25% or more, and anything bought with store credit are also final sale. Made-to-order pieces in our standard sizes and colourways can be exchanged.
Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing them.
