How I Overcame Anxiety in 2024
in 2024, i found myself caught in a cycle of anxiety that i had never truly experienced before. the events of that year left me feeling overwhelmed, and i knew i needed to take action to regain control of my mental health. not by pushing through, but by listening.
here’s what actually worked.
1. cutting out coffee
one of the first changes i made was to stop drinking coffee. i was having one to two cups a day, and quickly realized it was contributing to my heightened stress response — particularly in the mornings. once i stopped, the reduction in anxiety was significant and noticeable within a week.
2. mineral supplementation
stress and anxiety elevate cortisol, which in turn depletes essential minerals from the body. i started adding a mineral supplement to my morning water to support my system through this period. the key nutrients i focused on:
- Vitamin C — immune support and adrenal health
- Zinc — mood regulation and cognitive function
- Selenium — thyroid function and stress management
- B vitamins — energy production and mental clarity
replenishing these helped my body build resilience rather than just survive.
3. high-protein breakfast
making a high-protein breakfast a non-negotiable was one of the simplest and most impactful changes. protein stabilizes blood sugar levels, which has a direct and significant impact on mood and anxiety. starting the day from a stable foundation changed how i moved through the rest of it.
4. addressing parasites
through my research, i discovered that parasites can be a significant but overlooked contributor to various health issues, including anxiety. undertaking a cleanse was part of the process for me, and the results were notable. it’s worth researching if this resonates with what you’re experiencing.
the deeper lesson
what i learned most from 2024 is that overcoming anxiety is not a single act — it is an ongoing practice of listening to the body. of making small, consistent changes and trusting that they compound. of treating the physical body as the foundation that everything else rests on, not as an afterthought.
if you’re facing something similar: start small. one change at a time. your body knows what it needs. the work is learning to hear it.
