How the Dye Is Made

The colour comes entirely from plants. Turmeric, indigo, and native Balinese botanicals are used to build the dye baths by hand, in small batches, timed and layered to produce the gradient effect. There is no synthetic pigment anywhere in the process, which fits inside a wider commitment the brand has held since 2020: natural fabrics only, and plastic-free packaging on every order that leaves Bali.

Why No Two Pieces Match

A dye bath is a living thing. Water temperature shifts through the day. The exact minute a piece of linen enters the bath changes what the fibre absorbs. This means Rainbeau will never be standardized, and the brand has made peace with that, publicly and often.
