The Gloria Jacket

The restaurant is always colder than the street.

The Gloria Jacket is a lightweight, semi sheer silk and cotton jacket with an oversized sleeve and Japanese style buttons, hand stitched in Bali. It is cut for exactly that problem. Silk does not insulate so much as regulate. It takes the edge off a cold room and an evening breeze without ever becoming the reason you are warm, which is why it works in a climate where a real jacket would be absurd.

It is semi sheer, and that is the point rather than an oversight. Light goes through it instead of stopping at it, so whatever you wear underneath stays part of the picture and the jacket reads as one more layer of air. Over the Off White Perla dress it nearly disappears into it. Over the Dark Moon Black it does something closer to shadow.

The buttons are Japanese in style, small and deliberate, carrying the same restraint that runs through the rest of the Oracle Collection. The sleeve is the opposite instinct entirely. Oversized, generous through the whole arm, so the jacket moves like something borrowed rather than something fitted.

It is soft in the hand in a way that photographs badly and wears beautifully.

It is the matching layer to the Gloria Dress, in the same silk cotton, so the two read as one cloth when worn together and as two good decisions when worn apart. Over the dress it completes the line. Over jeans, over a slip, over the linen you already own from us, it does something else and asks nothing of you.

Glory is not loud. Neither is this.

Hand stitched by the artisan families who have made for this house since the beginning, each of them paid a real living wage, never a factory garment. Silk and cotton, no synthetics.

Colorways

Off White Perla is named for the pearl it matches, a white with warmth inside it rather than glare.

Dark Moon Black worn over the Off White Perla dress becomes the most useful thing in the collection.

Sizing

Available in S/M and M/L. The sleeve is oversized by design, which is the intention and not a mistake.

The honest note

This jacket is semi sheer. It is meant to be, and you should know it before it arrives rather than after. It is a layer that softens, not one that covers.

Silk relaxes rather than creases. Keep it out of long direct sun. Cold hand wash or a gentle cycle in a mesh bag, hang to dry, do not wring. Made in small batches.

Common questions

Is it see through?

It is semi sheer, so a little, by design. Worn over the Gloria Dress that is a non question, because there is a dress underneath. Worn over a slip or a bralette it becomes a deliberate choice rather than an accident. If you want a layer that hides, this is not the one.

Can I buy it with the dress?

Yes. Choose Dress + Jacket on the Gloria Dress page and both pieces arrive together in your size and colorway.

Will it work over my other pieces?

Yes. It was cut to sit over the Gloria Dress, but the weight makes it a layer for most of what you already have, linen included. It is the piece to reach for over the Oracle Gown when the evening turns.

How do I care for it?

Cold hand wash, or a gentle cycle in a mesh bag. Hang to dry out of direct sun. Do not wring it.

Everything we make is handmade in Bali by our artisan families, in small batches and to order. 

Whether your piece is waiting in the studio or cut for you after you order, it is finished, checked and packed by hand, so allow 3 to 6 weeks before dispatch, with botanically dyed pieces toward the longer end. 

Once your order leaves Bali, transit is 5 to 15 business days, and tracking reaches your inbox within 5 days of dispatch.

Shipping is free worldwide on orders of $350 USD and over. 

Below that, one flat rate by region: $14.99 to the United States. $15 to Canada, Mexico and Asia. $18 to Australia and New Zealand. $25 to the UK and Europe. $32 everywhere else. Free within Indonesia.

Duties and taxes are collected on arrival. Since August 2025, most US orders carry a DHL duty charge, and VAT or GST applies in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

If a piece arrives and the fit is not right, or it arrives damaged, you have 10 days from delivery to exchange it. We issue store credit rather than cash refunds, and the piece needs to come back unworn, unwashed, unaltered, with tags attached. Return shipping is yours unless the piece arrived damaged or incorrect.

Pieces customised for you (made to your measurements, in a custom colour or altered to your request) are final sale, because they were cut for you and cannot belong to anyone else. Sale items, anything bought with a discount code of 25% or more, and anything bought with store credit are also final sale. Made-to-order pieces in our standard sizes and colourways can be exchanged.

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing them.
