Aligning Chakra Colours with Clothing and building your wardrobe.

Theme: Oversized outfits 

When you put on a specific outfit for the day, you are choosing how you want to show up and be received by the world. 

We all have a special outfit that we wear to boost our mood and make us feel happier, as well as having a unique piece of clothing that makes us feel warm and cosy. My favourite outfit to wear at the moment is the Saturn Teacher Bloom Floral Edition. It’s neutral colour and textured cotton weave makes it extremely comfortable and practical to wear. 

We use different outfits for different purposes, and it usually coincides with how we’re feeling throughout the month on our cycles. Different colours symbolise different meanings too, and can often shift our energy levels within our Chakras. For example wearing white is a form of being in the divine, it is the colour of innocence and is used to help protect and reflect other energies in social gatherings. 

In this blog we’re going to explore what colours to wear when it comes to energy flow from our Chakras and source. 

Red - The Root Chakra 

You can find the root Chakra at the bottom of the spine. It symbolises survival. Red is the colour of life, from the tomatoes grown in the garden, to the rush of blood that pumps through our veins, as well as being the colour of menstrual cycles and birth. 

Wearing red is a way of feeling more grounded and secure in your life. It attracts a lot of attention. Our Root Chakra is often blocked by fear so if you’re going into an environment that may not be comfortable, wearing red can help ease the tension.

Orange - The Sacral Chakra 

The Sacral Chakra is found close to your sex organs. It symbolises pleasure, creativity, sexual desire, emotions and feelings. Wearing orange can be an invitation to interact with others and make connections. If you’re feeling social this is a great colour to wear. 

The Sacral Chakra can be blocked by guilt, therefore orange is a way to release this negative energy.

Outfit: The Body Suit

Yellow - Solar Plexus Chakra 

The Solar Plexus is your fire, your will power and your strength. Internally it is linked to the pancreas and digestion area meaning that gut-feeling. Externally it is about your self-esteem and how you govern and balance yourself. 

The Solar Plexus Chakra can be blocked by shame, which doesn’t serve any purpose other than stopping you from achieving your goals. Like the sun, wear yellow to shine bright.

Green - Heart Chakra 

The Heart Chakra is located in the chest area, and of course means love for all things. It is the act of opening up space and freedom, through breathing and air. It is the middle Chakra which means balance, harmony and healing. 

For unconditional love around you, wear green. The Heart Chakra can often be blocked by grief, if you’re experiencing this pain, wear green to help you gently release and walk in open green areas.

Blue - Throat Chakra 

The throat Chakra is the truth. This symbolises expression, communication and creativity. Often when we are not speaking our truth this Chakra becomes blocked physically, in the form of a sore throat. 

Wearing blue is the best way to get into a creative zone, whether that’s writing, singing, dancing or painting. Blue allows creativity to flow. 

This Chakra is often blocked by lies. Therefore wear this colour to reveal the truth.

Dark Blue/Indigo - The Third Eye 

The Third Eye Chakra is located between your temple. It symbolises the all knowing intuition, vision and knowledge that comes from within. When this Chakra is opened it is where we find our peace. It is pure and untainted. 

Wear Dark Blue to find answers and sit in a space of awareness. The Third Eye can be blocked by Illusions, for example the ego.

Violet - The Crown Chakra 

Located at the top of the head, the Crown Chakra is believed to be connected to the source of power. It symbolises consciousness and awareness, which extends far beyond our human experience. This colour also transforms/vibrates into gold and white. 

Wearing this colour can help us move past blockages, experiences or trauma, by sitting in truth and the highest power. The Crown Chakra can be blocked by attachment.
