Slow, ethical and sustainable production
For every order you make, we give back to Bali
The Oracle Jacket is a waist length, long sleeve linen jacket in Moon Milk, cut from 100% stone washed linen and hand stitched in Bali. It is the third piece of the Oracle Collection, the layer the Oracle Gown and the Oracle Playsuit were waiting for.
An oracle does not speak first. She listens, and the room goes quiet around her. The gown and the playsuit hold that stillness through the body. The jacket holds it at the shoulder, which is where a room reads you before you have said a word.
The neckline is the same refinement as the rest of the line, high and clean, drawn from Japanese tailoring where restraint is the ornament and the space left empty does as much work as the line itself. The ruffles return, soft and unhurried, the one place the jacket allows itself a sigh. A row of buttons runs down the front, so you decide how much of what is underneath the room gets to see.
It stops at the waist. A cropped jacket has nowhere to hide its proportion, which is why so few are cut well, and why this one took the longest of the three to get right. Worn over the gown it turns a long white line into two clean planes. Worn over the playsuit it closes the silhouette into something you could walk into a meeting in. Worn alone with jeans it is the piece someone asks you about.
Moon Milk is the color of milk left out under a full moon. Not white. Warmer than white, lit faintly from inside, the shade that makes skin look like it has been somewhere warm.
It is hand stitched by the artisan families who have made for this house since the beginning, each of them paid a real living wage, never a factory garment. The linen is certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100, tested for harmful substances from fiber through finished garment, and European Flax certified, sourced from sustainably grown flax in Western Europe. It is stone washed before it reaches you, so it is already soft in your hands, and it softens again every time you wash it.
Choose it on its own here, or add it to the gown or the playsuit from their pages and the set arrives together.
What makes it different
- Japanese inspired neckline, refined and high, restraint as the ornament
- Long sleeves and button front, so how much it reveals stays your decision
- Soft ruffle detailing, one indulgence against a disciplined line
- Waist length, the hardest length to cut well and the most useful to own
- Made to layer, drawn to the same neckline as the Oracle Gown and Playsuit
- 100% stone washed linen, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and European Flax certified
- Hand stitched in Bali, never a factory garment
Sizing
Available in S/M and M/L, the same two sizes as the gown and the playsuit, so if you know your size in one you know it in the jacket. The cut sits close at the shoulder and easy through the body.
The honest note
Linen creases. That is the fiber telling the truth about itself, and a night on a hanger settles most of it. Made in small batches, so when a size is gone it may be gone for a season.
Your Oracle Jacket ships within two to three weeks of your order. That is the time it takes for the piece to be finished, checked and wrapped by hand in Bali. It is the pace of the making, not a delay.
Common questions
Does it match the Oracle Gown and Playsuit exactly?
Yes. Same Moon Milk linen from the same bolts, same neckline, same ruffle detailing, same hands. Worn together they read as one piece that happens to come apart.
Can I buy it as a set?
Yes. On the Oracle Gown and Oracle Playsuit pages, choose the "with Jacket" option and the pair ships together at a set price. This page is for the jacket on its own.
Is the linen certified?
Yes. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, tested for harmful substances from fiber through finished garment, and European Flax certified, sourced from sustainably grown flax in Western Europe.
How do I care for it?
Cold machine wash on a gentle cycle, hang to dry out of direct sun. Stone washed linen does not need pressing unless you want it. Every wash makes it softer.
