Meet Heather Mcleod Founder of Guru Grid
Your Name: Heather McLeod
The business you would like to share with our community? Gurugrid Yoga Alignment Mats
Share a little about yourself.
I am a wife and mother of 2 boys, living in the Laurentians (Quebec), as well as the creator and founder of Gurugrid. The combination of my business degree (Laurier), a few years in marketing and advertising (Toronto), many years as a personal trainer, and 20+ years loving and practicing yoga led me to create this mat. I also had the privilege of healing from breast cancer (2016/2017) while developing this project and I feel very deeply that the Gurugrid is infused with all the curative and peaceful vibes I drew on during that period.

What are you excited about right now?
I am very excited about our new Premium ELEMENTS mats arriving in November. The colours represent the elements in nature and of yoga - the power and strength of FIRE, the beauty and grounding of EARTH, and the flow and flexibility of WATER.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur right now?
My need to see myself in others and help us both drove me to create the Gurugrid. It is so rewarding to see that the peace of mind and sense of security I have while practicing on my mat is shared by so many others.
What's your major challenge right now and what are you doing to overcome it?
My major challenge right now is balancing my roles as a wife, mother, and businesswoman while taking care of my health.
What's one daily ritual you are practising right now?
I have finally gone back to meditating as a daily ritual. It got me through many, many years in the past and I somehow forgot what a valuable tool it is - and so simple and accessible.
How can the community support you right now?
Simply...I want everyone to practice yoga on a Gurugrid. Is wanting "everyone" to join the club too big of a goal? It isn't really a goal, but a vision. Of course, I want to sell a lot of and make a living, but I really want everyone to experience what I and the rest of our Gurugals and Guruguys experience.
What is your dharma in 2 words.
My dharma...that is a toughy! Got it! "Energy connection"
