Igniting Devotion with Chloe Mckinnon founder of OM Rituals

Hey friends, as part of our 30 love stories series where we share inspiring stories of woman in our blooming global community.

We are beyond excited for you to meet Chloe Mckinnon, entrepreneur and founder of OM Rituals whose dharma is Igniting Devotion.

Please share the business / project that you are working on currently.

Om Rituals is my business where I make herbal therapy rituals.  They are designed to connect one to spirit through the practice of ritual with the assistance of plants.

Your bio.

After a surprise twist in my life path I found my self immersed in the wonderful world of plants. Leaving my city life behind I ended up living on a farm in Sechelt BC.  Nature suddenly became my greatest teacher. The wisdom of plants fascinated me which led me into making herbal tea as medicine and as a conduit in ceremony.

I spontaneously began to blend herbs into my meditation practices. The plants would assist me in my presence, through preparation as well as attuning my attention into the body. In my meditations I asked spirit to guide me in this next phase of my life, I would ask what would you have me do, where would you have me go. Eventually I heard a voice say, share this. I wasn’t sure what “this” was, eventually I opened my eyes and looked down at my beautiful ritual and I realized that “this” was my practice of devotion. Soon after the knowledge, people and courses aligned to create the medicine bundles that would be used in rituals designed to connect one to Spirit, Love, God. Hence the name Om Rituals.

Where can people find your services/projects?

On Instagram @omrituals and soon I’ll have a finished website at omrituals.com

What are you really excited about right now?

Right now I am sharing more in person Rituals as well as teaching workshops with plants and herbs, such as making herbal smudge sticks as well as teaching people how to make their own  tea blends.

But the thing that I am most excited about is working one on one with people assisting them to create their own medicine bundles designed to help them with a particular focus in their ritual. For example I recently assisted a client to create a bundle for grief. The parts of the ritual bundle were carefully chosen by her inner guidance with my assistance. In this way she is empowered by her own creation and assisted by plants as spiritual medicine.

What inspired you to become ______ (how you serve humanity right now)?

In two words,

Nature & Devotion.

I went to Indonesia the year before I created Om Rituals. In the weeks leading up to my trip I spontaneously began a very specific ritual with particular elements to it that I had never done before. I was in bliss in this devotion. I never questioned it. I just enjoyed its unfoldment. When I got to Indonesia I stayed at an Ashram. I had no knowledge about Indonesian or Balinese culture before arriving. Yet when I stayed in the Ashram and practiced their traditions I saw that the ritual that I began to practice before I left was almost identical to the Balinese Hindu traditions. I felt a sweet laughter inside as I realized that this knowledge lives inside us all and is waiting to be tapped into.

What is your major challenge right now and what are you doing to overcome it?

Starting a business on my own has been a lot of work. Every aspect of this business so far has been created by me. The research, branding, photography, vision, labels, information on the labels, the content, the questionnaires, the growing herbs, drying herbs, storing herbs, mixing herbs and oils, the ordering and restocking the list goes on. I do it all but I am just one person and I can’t possibly do this all on a larger scale. I need a team. I just got home from a business building workshop this past weekend and I made some great connections there. But I am currently looking for partnerships and collaborations with those who want to invest their time and energy in efforts to connect people to Spirit, Love & God especially through nature and plants as spiritual medicine.

What's one daily ritual you are practising right now?

I sit in meditation, have tea with God and play my wooden flute.

How can the community support you right now?

Any feedback would be wonderful. I’d like to connect with like mind-spirited people. I would also like to find partner ships, friendships or mentor ships with other business owners who are also looking to spread more devotion and connection to spirit in the world. Having more exposure to my instagram is always helpful as well. I am still working on my website, any help with that would be wonderful too especially how to sell my service and bundles online.

Igniting Devotion

To share even just a moment in pure surrender to that which beats our heart is my deepest wish for Om Rituals.

For people to awaken to the beauty of ritual as a way to connect to Spirit and to connect nature and plants as a way inward. We live in a tough world. There is a lot of suffering. Creating a beautiful ritual is a way to lighten the difficulty of practice, and it is the beginning of creating a life steeped in the beauty of ritual, where devotion doesn’t end after the ritual is complete, it spills over the whole life.

Eventually every meal, painting and act is seeded in a devotion to the underlying life force in all things, some call it consciousness I call it God.

Seeing people connect to God, their true nature through plants and ritual makes my heart swell with gratitude and joy.

Thank you for opening up this space for my heart to pour out.

Blessings

Chloe
