What are you really excited about right now?
Studying Esoteric Acupuncture in Boulder. I am so excited to learn how to blend the ancient wisdom of Sacred Geometry, The Hindu Chakra system and Traditional Chinese Medicine in order to guide people to connect with higher aspects of themselves.
We have finally gotten to a place in our society where we recognize the importance of body and mind, however, we still leave out the realm of spirit. I think it is important to realize that we are all three. Body. Mind. AND Spirit.
I am beyond excited to be able to learn these tools to help people find their spiritual path, grounding them in their truth, heightening intuition, and resolving past traumas and perceived limitations to healing.
What inspired you to become a healer?
Oh this is a loaded questions and is rooted in my own past trauma. I lost both my parents at quite a young age. The sudden traumatic death of my father witnessed before my own young eyes, combined with the slow painful death of my mother shortly after, was a catalyst for my own spiritual growth and passion for helping others heal.
In the simplest sense, I wanted to find a way to help others avoid the pain and suffering that I had endured for much of my childhood. At first, I thought the best path to do this was within our western model of health care, and so I pursued my studies in nursing. It wasn’t too far into that career that I realized that while necessary and beneficial, this model of healing was just a band aid fix.
I wanted to dive deeper into healing the WHOLE person - which again, I truly believe comes from this integration of body, mind, and spirit.
What's your major challenge right now and what are you doing to overcome it?
I am a HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and empath, so my biggest challenge (particularly with my healing practice) is maintaining healthy boundaries and discerning my own junk from something I may have picked up from a client.
I have found that a practice of grounding myself with meditation before clients as well as smudging and clearing after I work with them is an imperative daily practice.
What's one daily ritual you are practising right now?
Yoga. Always, always yoga. This on some days will look like your typical asana practice, while other days it will be more of a still practice with pranayama and meditation, while recently my yoga practice has also started to include my husband and tantric practices together. I never ceased to be amazed at the different ways you can incorporate and infuse yoga into every aspect of your life.
How can the community support you right now?

What is your dharma in 2 words.
hmmm, I really had to sit with this one, what came strongly to me was ANCHORING SPIRIT
Now, let me unpack what I mean by this. I truly do believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience and what I mean by ANCHORING SPIRIT, is exactly that.
To anchor this connection to spirit into our human lives. I believe that when spirit is anchored into our physicality, we are able to not only heal our bodies quicker, but also when connected to our spirit, we are able to to see where physical ailments might hold deeper lessons, or perhaps require a shift in perception.
Likewise for our mental state, when our spirit is anchored into our mental faculties, we approach our relationship to our emotions, whether “good” or “bad” with more grace, love and compassion whether it be for the emotions we have towards ourselves or others. Body work and somatic therapy including Esoteric Acupuncture is a way to truly anchor that spiritual component into this human experience.

And I am SO happy you are looking to find balance and health in your life!
From a very young age, I knew I wanted to help others. Growing up with a chronically ill mother I was exposed to the medical system on a daily basis. Growing up around painkillers and prescriptions, doctors and home care workers, studying nursing seemed like the obvious career path.
Having worked in long term and palliative care facilities, as well as home care and doctor’s offices, I have witnessed people in all stages of health, illness, birth, and death. Through my experiences, I saw that while conventional medical therapies did save many lives, there was a disturbing trend of over -medicating and under- nourishing. I came to a troubling conclusion; the system I was working for was not, in fact, a health care system but rather an illness treatment system. I wondered “Why not try to maintain one’s health BEFORE illness, rather than wait until it was too late?”
My search for a more holistic form of medicine brought me to MacEwan University’s Acupuncture program, and while reading my first text on the modality, I knew I had found my Dharma (life’s purpose).
I am excited to bring my experience in conventional medicine, my love of eastern philosophy, and passion for natural healing to our treatments together. I strive to bring you a unique, heartfelt and gentle healing experience specialized to address and balance the WHOLE person, body, mind, and spirit.
